Dear Friends and Guests of Trestle on Tenth, Gone are the days of lolling about on sandy, umbrella-covered beaches or strolling through green country meadows decorated with smiling cows. Gone are hours spent without guilt, lying in a hammock reading Anna Karenina (or perhaps something less lofty), but definitely with a glass of Riesling or a can of Bud in one hand. Grilling hanger steaks and sweet corn on the fire escape, chiling bottles of wine in the bathtub, having friends over for spur-of-the-moment dinners. Over. All behind us! Within a couple of days after Memorial Day we find ourselves again back in the claws of reality and in the hectic life that is the city. Before too much longer we are agonizing over Christmas gift lists and preparing to sink into caloric hypnosis of the holidays. Post-vacation life does not have to be completely drour, however. Fall and winter have their pleasures, too, and we at Trestle on Tenth are busy making plans to provide some bright spots in your calendar. Wine and Food Festival Saturday, October 10 Failla Wines Wednesday, October 21 Domaine Guillot-Broux Tuesday, November 17 New Years Eve at Trestle on Tenth Thursday, December 31 New Years Eve 2008 was such a fun evening that we just can't let it be a one-time event. Once again we will offer a five-course tasting menu paired with eclectic wines. Please be warned there will be no noisemakers, funny hats or embarrassing chicken dances at midnight, but rather we will welcome the new year with glasses of cool, glistering and enchanting Champagne, delicious as life itself. Do plan to join us! Ralf and the team at Trestle on Tenth ______________________________________________________________________________________ |
