Fall 2009 News
Dear Friends and Guests of Trestle on Tenth,
Gone are the days of lolling about on sandy, umbrella-covered beaches or strolling through green country meadows decorated with smiling cows. Gone are hours spent without guilt, lying in a hammock reading Anna Karenina (or perhaps something less lofty), but definitely with a glass of Riesling or a can of Bud in one hand. Grilling hanger steaks and sweet corn on the fire escape, chiling bottles of wine in the bathtub, having friends over for spur-of-the-moment dinners. Over. All behind us!
Within a couple of days after Memorial Day we find ourselves again back in the claws of reality and in the hectic life that is the city. Before too much longer we are agonizing over Christmas gift lists and preparing to sink into caloric hypnosis of the holidays.

Post-vacation life does not have to be completely drour, however. Fall and winter have their pleasures, too, and we at Trestle on Tenth are busy making plans to provide some bright spots in your calendar.

Wine and Food Festival  Saturday, October 10
Because last years event was such great success, we are again participating in the NYC Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting. We are serving "smoked and braised duck with porcini mushrooms on a brioche bun." For tickets and event info visit http://nycwineandfoodfestival.com/2009/

Failla Wines  Wednesday, October 21
Join us and Anne-Marie Failla of Failla Wines for a four-course dinner with wine pairings. Anne-Marie and her husband, Ehren Jordan, founded their Napa winery in 1998 and have ever since garnered accolades for their Rhône-style wines. The philosophy that clearly shines through in the strictly limited quantities of wines they produce is providing ecstatic pleasure firmly grounded in honest winemaking. Cost per person for the wine dinner is $90, tax and tip included. The event starts at 7:30. Please RSVP. For more information on the winery go to http://faijllawines.com/index.htm

Domaine Guillot-Broux   Tuesday, November 17
We are going to have the unparalleled delight of welcoming Emmanuelle Guillot for an intimate four-course dinner with wine pairings. Ammanuelle is one of 14 artisans who broke free years ago from the yoke and tyranny of overproduced, sterilized wines from the Southern Burgundy region that are all too common. Domaine Guillot-Broux is a certified winery producing spectacular wines that showcase terroir, elegance and character. Cost per person is $90, tax and tip included. The event starts at 7:30. Please RSVP. For more information on the winery go to http://www.guillot-broux.com/

New Years Eve at Trestle on Tenth   Thursday, December 31

New Years Eve 2008 was such a fun evening that we just can't let it be a one-time event. Once again we will offer a five-course tasting menu paired with eclectic wines. Please be warned there will be no noisemakers, funny hats or embarrassing chicken dances at midnight, but rather we will welcome the new year with glasses of cool, glistering and enchanting Champagne, delicious as life itself. Do plan to join us!
